Weapons have shaped the landscape of our world. Every since the prehistoric era, the people with superior weapons conquered other peoples. One of the oldest weapons, if not the oldest, is the knife. Knives fascinate me. It seems it has been used in every battle in history. It started with knives made out of bones or heated wood. Then the material of choice became copper or bronze. Lately, it’s made out of steel and ceramic. Knives are a favorite tool of the military. They can be used to fight, dig and hammer. My favorite knife is the Ka-Bar knives.

Ka-bar knives are US made fighting knives that were issued first to the marines then the navy. It was first used by the military during World War II. It was such an effective weapon that even after the war there was great demand for it. It was so popular that it became bigger than the manufacturer. As a result, the manufacturer adopted the Ka-bar name.
