Animal figurines can range from those made of cheap plastic pieces to expensive collectors’ items. In between are animal replicas made of clay, metal and a host of other materials. Some are just simple decorative pieces. Others are serious collectors’ items that can cost quite a bit. In both kinds, there is always an attempt to create as close a look to the real thing as possible. It is the perfect likeness of the figurine to the real thing that makes people like to collect them. It is what brings up its value.
Collecting animal figurines as a hobby can be very engaging. It takes many forms. Some will collect only certain species like dachshund figurines, for example. The collector will have them in all sizes and colors. They will be standing, sitting or be in all kinds of positions possible. The collector will not be able to resist another dachshund figurine, especially if it is of a different size, color or pose.

Making a snowman is one of the most enjoyable activities of children in the wintertime. They start by packing powdery snow into balls and come up with the figure of a pot bellied man. The figure is finished by creating a face using recycled items and clothing the thing to make it appear like a person. A snowman is fun to play with but it will only live for as long as the temperature is right. As soon as the sun comes out it starts to melt and there goes the snowman.
A snowman doll is a happy alternative to the melted snowman. They are made to last come snow or shine. They may hang on Christmas trees or stand tall by the front door. They may be bought from stores or made from scratch. A snowman doll will always be a part of Christmas decorating.

Renaissance is a historic era characterized by flourishing art, humanism, self-awareness and religion. There are several weapons that came about during this time. One of them is the Main Gauche swords are left-hand weapons used to assist in parrying incoming thrusts. They are typically made of stainless steel and are beautifully polished.
While Main Gauche swords are used to parry with the left hand, the rapier was held in the right. The Main Gauche is considered a secondary weapon. Its size is between a dagger and a short sword. It is often used to surprise the opponent with a swift stab.

Many people love collecting beautiful items. Unfortunately, some of these are so fragile, they are best left inside a locked shelf and admired from afar. Not so with pewter figurines. Since pewter is very durable, these collectibles can last for years and may even be passed on to the next generations.
Choosing pewter figurines lets you enjoy your collection better as you won’t have to worry having them broken by children. For instance, many pewter fairy figurines are amazingly detailed but are very affordable. Even kids can start their own collections of pewter figurines depending on characters of themes they like.

Ships will always remind us of exploration and trade. Cutty Sark ship model seems to re-tell how she raced other clippers in the tea trade from China and wool trade from Australia. The first model was made by Cyril Hume. It comes in different sizes from 14 inches to towering 44 inches.
The Cutty Sark ship model was built from original plan using “plank on frame” construction method. It is highly detailed and of high quality fully assembled ready for display. It is made of finest wood like rosewood, teak, mahogany and exotic tropical wood. It is considered an excellent model because of the chrome and brass fittings and ornaments used. This is indeed a magnificent work of art.

When in a gun fight it is best to have multiple guns. More firepower is always an advantage. The best place to keep a second gun is in your ankle secured by ankle holsters. You always see it in movies. Most guys carry a small gun in their ankles.
Having a second gun secured by ankle holsters is great. In a gun fight, if you are not trained properly, you risk shooting all your bullets leaving you with a useless gun. You also risked getting it knocked off. That is why a second gun is important. When using an ankle holster though use a smaller gun so it won’t be a hassle when you run.

Weapons have shaped the landscape of our world. Every since the prehistoric era, the people with superior weapons conquered other peoples. One of the oldest weapons, if not the oldest, is the knife. Knives fascinate me. It seems it has been used in every battle in history. It started with knives made out of bones or heated wood. Then the material of choice became copper or bronze. Lately, it’s made out of steel and ceramic. Knives are a favorite tool of the military. They can be used to fight, dig and hammer. My favorite knife is the Ka-Bar knives.
Ka-bar knives are US made fighting knives that were issued first to the marines then the navy. It was first used by the military during World War II. It was such an effective weapon that even after the war there was great demand for it. It was so popular that it became bigger than the manufacturer. As a result, the manufacturer adopted the Ka-bar name.

Tin signs are great collectibles. There is a vast variety of them and they all bring on a nostalgic feeling. Rekindle your memory with animal tin signs, humorous tin signs or Hollywood and TV tin signs. You do not always have to collect them; it is fun to have one or two as part of your home décor. You can have one in the bathroom or in the kitchen.
If you cannot have real vintage tin signs you can always go for reproductions. It may not be art that will fetch a good price as it grows older, but it will add a vintage kind of feel in your home. The most popular tin signs are about brands such as Budweiser and Coca Cola. Automobiles and gasoline brands have their own share of tin sign designs. It is fun comparing the old designs with the newer ones.

It was just after the start of World War II in December 1942 when KA-BAR submitted a fighting knife for approval to the US Marine Corps. The company hoped to have its knife become general issue to that branch of the military. With the collaboration of the Marine Quartermaster Department, a design for KA-BAR knives was devised.
Soon, production started and a new and improved fighting/utility knife for the Marines was born. As the war raged on, the demand for the knives increased and KA-BAR’s wartime production totaled more than one million. Now, KA-BAR knives remain well recognized for their quality and became a generic name for other knives made in the same pattern regardless of whether the knife was manufactured at the KA-BAR facilities or not.
