Many people have started collecting various items of interests since they are young. Some have started late upon discovery of a new fascination. Collectible items range from postcards and key chains to miniature or life-size replicas of action figures and movie characters. Other collectors opt for rare items like old coins and postage stamps to antique vases and limited edition computer games. And still, though not so popular and may be considered a rather different kind of collection are collectible swords and armors.
Collectible swords enthrall each collector with its accompanying history. Spanning from Greek and Roman swords to Japanese samurais, collectors are lured by each sword’s stories and causes. Collectible swords can also be common or rare, depending on the era it represents. In addition, collectible swords make for a great collection especially when matched with collectible helmets and armors.

The SOG knife was designed for, and issued to, covert Studies and Observation Group personnel during the Vietnam War. It was unmarked and supposedly untraceable to country of origin or manufacture in order to maintain plausible deniability of covert operators in the event of their death or capture. A chrome-moly steel known as SKS-3 was chosen for the blade and hardened to Rockwell hardness. The blade pattern featured a convex false edge on the clip point of a Bowie knife. The blade was typically blackened to reduce glare. This was done so by applying a dark gun-blue finish (similar to those used on guns) on this carbon steel knife.
There are different designs of SOG pocket knives. Below are just a few examples:~Seven Inch Recon–One of 1300 seven inch knives provided by the Counter Insurgency Support Office (CISO) early in the war. Both the knife and sheath are unmarked.~Seven Inch Recon made by Japan Sword and so marked on the ricasso. It has a blue blade and comes with the original scabbard. Only a couple of these are known to exist.~Fat Guard SOG knife—The first of the 6″ SOG knives. It has a blue blade and brass fittings. It comes with original scabbard. Both the knife and sheath are unmarked.

Conveniently move between vehicles, offices, and field work without being hampered with your firearm. Make use of a paddle holster instead of a typical handgun holster that attaches to the user via belt. A paddle holster allows the entire holster and firearm to be removed from the wearer easily.
Take it off when sitting and then just as easily put it back when needed. A paddle holster allows users the option not to wear a belt and still be able to bring a firearm along. This is very convenient for plain-clothes detectives and other law enforcement officers who need the flexibility.

Collections are delightful groups of items that give pleasure to many people. If you have a penchant for all things nautical, you may want to add dolphin figurines to your home’s interior décor. Bring in things that will remind you of your ocean adventures even while you’re not able to go sailing on certain days.
Create a room done with a nautical motif. For the bedroom, have pillows and bedding that incorporate images of boats, lighthouses and various sea creatures. You may even want to hang a sailing map on one wall that traces the routes taken by ancient explorers. You can also hang port hole style mirrors to add fun and an adventurous ambience to your favorite room.

The wild Wild West is a harsh time in American history. Like all harsh time, it produced some of the most legendary and colorful people in our country. We have the bad guys: Apache Kid, Billy the Kid, Jesse James and Doc Holiday. We have good guys: The Earp Brothers, Wyatt and Virgil, Bat Masterson. We also have bigger than life characters: Davie Crockett and James Bowie. Davie Crockett is known as one of America ’s top sharpshooter and hunter. James Bowie is known for his bravery and knife fighting skills. He’s so good at knife fighting that they named a knife after him, the bowie knife.
The bowie knife is a huge hunting knife. It was designed after the knife that James Bowie used in defending himself in the famous Sandbar fight. During the fight, Bowie was shot and stabbed in the chest. Despite his injuries, he was able to kill 3 people with his knife. He almost decapitated one, disemboweled one, and cracked the skull of another. After that fight, Bowie received numerous requests from all over the world for a similar knife. That’s how the bowie knife was born.

This coming Christmas, make your gifts to all nephews the same. This would eliminate the yearly bickering about who got the best or coolest gifts and free you from the headache that would most likely follow. Give slot car sets to all the boys. They are bound to be ecstatic as all of them can play a game each without waiting for their turn.
Slot car racing started in England. The game was brought to the US and other parts of the world by returning servicemen after the Second World War. The craze for car modeling became popular as an at home pastime. During the ’50s, a man named Alban Adams built the first recessed slot track for the model cars and slot car racing was born.

A friend of mine is an artist. She has gone through so many phases. She began as an art director in an advertising agency, and then became a freelance photographer. She is now into pottery. She told me that her family’s collection of Longaberger pottery inspired her to take up pottery.
Longaberger pottery is durable and can stand hot and cold temperatures. They are made of thick ceramic. They are all very pretty and colorful. There are two models: the woven traditions and the American Home pottery collection. The woven traditions collection are thicker are made of thicker ceramic while the American Home collection is more fine and delicate.
