The children’s room need a bit of styling as well. Now that the children are bigger you can do away with some of their toys and stuffed animals. Put in a desk where they can store their school things. They will need it also when doing their homework from school. When their things are organized, they are encouraged to do their schoolwork without much prodding.
You can put in things that will encourage them to practice good virtues. Give them a little lecture on how they can save part of their allowance for future spending. Encourage them to practice saving by putting a pottery piggy bank on the shelf. Give each child one with a different color. If possible personalize it with their names written in script.
