Thus you will find army bears, doctor and nurse bears and even ballerinas. You will also find sporty bears in a boxing outfit or baseball uniform. In spite of this variety, there is still the urge to own one of a kind teddy bear. There are attempts at coming out with a unique mine-alone bear by personalizing them. When I was studying in a Catholic school, the theory of creation was not discussed or debated. I read about man evolving from the apes much later on in Time magazine. Hominid refers to anyone and anything in the ancestral evolution of humans. Ever since this theory was made public, experts have strived to find proof by studying fossils. Hominid fossils found in museums are often in different shapes and sizes. They are meant to tell the tale of how we evolved from primates to well humans. Although, most people would agree with me that if anyone had any doubts where we came from all he or she needs to do is watch a high strung sport live like football, boxing, hockey, wrestling, basketball and see if those die-hard fans and hooligans don’t remind you of where we came from.
It’s actually quite frightening to look at hominid fossils. They scare me a bit because some of them actually look more like animal skulls rather than human skulls. Sometimes I can’t decide whether those skulls look like Darth Vader than ape. But kidding aside, it is quite amazing and interesting to see how the experts piece together parts and test them for authenticity before concluding that those were indeed primates’ parts. I personally never tire of visiting history museums, there are so much more fascinating than animated films any given day.

Working with horses is a satisfying activity for many animal lovers. In fact, you’ll see this dedication in many horse riding instructors. These people teach children and adults of all abilities to ride a horse well. Full time instructors usually work long hours and are often required to work weekends into the evening.
Show your appreciation for your child’s horse instructor. Present him or her with collectible pony figurines when a special occasion comes around. These pretty figurines are sure to be enjoyed by the recipient. He or she will most likely remember you and your child long after the riding lessons are over.

Take your model car collecting hobby to a new level. Buy plastic model kits so you can take part in the creation process. If you build the models yourself, you also get to improve your skills. For instance, the dexterity needed in handling and assembling small parts will develop your hand eye coordination. On the other hand, your fine motor skills will be put into the test when you paint your models.
Furthermore, your creativity will be put in the forefront when you get into detailing your model beyond what the instructions call for. You get to experience how to literally think outside the box. You’ll also appreciate more the importance of following directions. But you’ll also learn that there is always room for compromise as well.

In those times, the chainmail was enough to ward off the enemy’s weapons. But as the years progressed more powerful historical weapons were developed such as the longbow and crossbow. The chainmail became ineffective. The shield became smaller and eventually disappeared. The full suit of plate armor became the thing. Thus, ‘the knight in shining armor’ came to be.
It is interesting that historical weapons were the basis for the development of the armor. Knives and swords could be defected by the shield which was usually a piece of wood covered with leather. Together with the helmet they were excellent protection even to the bow and arrow. After the development of the full suit of armor, gunpowder weapons began to be developed. Not even the plate armor could protect the knight from this powerful weapon.

It is good to have dolls of different races. Not only will it provide variety in your child’s collection; but it will teach her that there are people around the world that look different. Teach her that while they live in countries faraway, they are the same as the American girl doll in many ways. They feel happy sometimes, and they feel sad other times. This will initiate your child to the reality that people are different in some ways but they are the same in many ways.
It will be nice to start your child on a collection of dolls in their national costumes. You can get her a Japanese doll in a kimono, a French doll in a fashionable dress with hat and a Hawaiian doll in a hula costume. Teach her some simple history tidbits. Show her pictures of places and homes where they live. She will remember these throughout her life.

In these modern times, where would you find medieval clothing such as
Renaissance wedding dresses, captain’s coats and gothic dresses? Would you still find battle ready swords and chainmail coif? What is a chainmail coif, you ask. It is a headgear of interwoven links worn alone or under a metal helmet in the medieval ages. It aimed to protect the user from blade slashes and being pierced by an arrow.

I’ve been collecting figurines for years. Seeing all of them gathered in my special custom made glass case brings me so much joy and fulfillment. One of the crystal figurines that I really fancy about is the Armani Disney figurines. That is why I am always on the lookout for new ones that I can add up in my growing collection. I just love the design and craftsmanship in these delicate figurines.
Since I consider them as one of my prized possessions, I always make sure that I clean them properly. I frequently dust and wipe them as dirt can easily accumulate on the. Rubbing them so hard is a big no-no too as it can scratch the surface. Using a hair dryer on cool setting always does the trick for me as the air gently blows off the dust.
