Teddy bear collectors often look for the most dated stuffed bear that they can find. Early teddy bears were not as pretty as those that we know today, but they looked like real bears. They had extended snouts and beady eyes. They were made of cotton material, maybe recycled from old clothes, and had buttons for eyes. They may not be very pretty but they have surely become collectible teddy bears. No wonder they can be obtained only for quite a hefty sum.
Vintage teddy bears are a far cry from the stuffed bears that we see today. Modern teddy bears come in various styles; they are dressed up in different fashion. They are fitted with hats, be-ribboned, and dressed up for a party. They ride tiny strollers, carry an umbrella or wear shades. No wonder, collectors have a heyday choosing teddy bears to add to their collection.

The Samurai were members of the military class of Japan. They were famous for the weapons that they used that were very important to them. A Samurai believed that his swords hold his soul. The Samurai was supposed to be respected; they could fight, in fact, execute anybody who did not accord them proper respect. This was his way of testing the quality of his swords.
Samurai had different kinds of swords. The most popular of the samurai swords was the katana, a long sword that was the symbol of the samurai. In peacetime, they carried two swords. One was the katana and the other is a short sword called wakizashi. In war-time, he carried a long sword, tachi and a short sword, tanto. Authentic, handmade samurai swords are available for sale. They are a great hit with collectors.

Dinosaurs are interesting reptiles. Because they lived many many years ago and they no longer exist they are even more interesting. We can only know about them through fossils that are dug up from under the earth. Dinosaur skulls are kept in museums for safekeeping and to ensure that they are preserved for the education of future generation. Some are authentic; others are replicas.
Real and replica dinosaur skulls are being sold to museums. Most are molded and cast specimen. One example is the replica of Deinosuchus, a reptile that was far larger than any modern crocodile or alligator. It measured up to 40 feet and weighs up to 8.5 metric tons. It had large, robust teeth that were built for crushing and its back was covered with thick semispherical osteoderms.

I have never met a basketball fan who doesn’t collect basketball trading cards. Some place them in plastic card sleeves and keep them in sturdy binders. A few even consider them as holy as the bible. I can’t blame them, though. Some of their cards can be worth a fortune.
My brother is one of those card collectors who treat his collection with utmost reverence. He’s been collecting ever since my dad took him to see a game and gave him a couple of his Magic Johnson basketball cards. Now, his collection one of the most extensive ones I’ve seen. He has all of the teams, each in different binders, but you could tell which team is his favorite by the thickness of the binder. I imagine that if he sells his collection in the future, he’d be pretty rich.

During the Renaissance of Europe, the infantry used a type of war sword commonly known as the side sword. The term was coined from the Italian phrase spada da lato, which literally means “sword from side”. They were ideal for handling the mix of armored and unarmored enemies. This sword design eventually led to the creation of the modern-day rapier.
Early versions of the side sword looked more like an arming sword with an ornate hilt. Much later, a technique of improving one’s grip on the sword was discovered, which led to the design and production of hilts with finger guards. These weapons could be used for cutting and thrusting. Side swords used with bucklers became so popular that the term “swashbuckler” was coined.

Pottery is the general term for wares that are made from clay. It is also one of the most diverse things you can collect. Collecting pottery can be very expensive, and you must do some research if you plan on becoming a serious pottery collector. Read good books on pottery, and arm yourself with the proper terminologies.
I have a colleague who is an extensive collector of antiques. He’s always on the lookout for antique wooden furniture, glass pieces, and European pottery. Going to his house is like visiting a museum with all the priceless pieces he has. I had a hard time going around the house for fear of breaking an antique. He says that he collects and restores these items because it reminds him of how people have evolved in terms of style and taste.

In a house, the kitchen always has a central position so specific safety measures and forethoughts should be carried out against numerous threats to safeguard not only yourself but your appliances as well. Most of the manufacturing companies today use special weather-proof and shock-resistant materials in producing kitchen appliances. Nevertheless it is still advisable to take additional protective precautions for instance covering the appliances. It is very important that the kitchen appliance like gas grill should be properly covered up. Why is it necessary to use grill covers?
Having a durable grill cover keeps your gas grill safe from any kind of damage or harm posed by external elements. Using a cover (I purchased a few Florida Gators grill covers for this reason) saves the grill from getting dirty when not in use. By wrapping your gas grill by a cover, provides you not only safety of your gas grill but also increases its durability and efficiency. If you use these covers, your grill will remain in excellent condition years after years. These covers reduces the wear and tear of your appliance to a greater extent thus increasing their life and saving great deal of money for you.

An ammunition storage and feeding device within or attached to a repeating firearm is called a magazine. Magazines may be vital to the firearm fixed or removable. The magazine works by moving the cartridges stored in the magazine into a position where they may be loaded into the chamber by the action of the firearm. The detachable magazine is often referred to as a clip. The usage is not encouraged by many authorities on firearms but is nonetheless commonplace.
Magazines come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The earliest magazines appeared not on firearms, but rather on air guns. There are those that use bolt action express rifles that hold only a few rounds and those like machine guns that hold hundreds of rounds. Since the magazine is a necessary part of most repeating firearms, they are often the focus to regulation by gun control laws seeking to limit the number of cartridges they hold. A magazine gun is a gun that uses a magazine to load ammunition.

Many people have a fascination for clocks. People who know people who collect clocks usually do not understand their love for this machine. It could be the precision of time that draws them to clocks. The way time moves in an exact sequence. Never slow or fast enough to cross the limits of a second. They love how exact time is.
Some collectors like to collect clocks that produce sounds. The sound of a big grandfather’s clock ticking seconds calms some people. Others look for the sound of the alarm in the morning. Some clocks make bell sounds every hour. And there are the playful hand made cuckoo clocks that are a hit among the youngsters.
