Main Gauche swords

Renaissance is a historic era characterized by flourishing art, humanism, self-awareness and religion. There are several weapons that came about during this time. One of them is the Main Gauche swords are left-hand weapons used to assist in parrying incoming thrusts. They are typically made of stainless steel and are beautifully polished.

While Main Gauche swords are used to parry with the left hand, the rapier was held in the right. The Main Gauche is considered a secondary weapon. Its size is between a dagger and a short sword. It is often used to surprise the opponent with a swift stab.
