Teddy bear collectors often look for the most dated stuffed bear that they can find. Early teddy bears were not as pretty as those that we know today, but they looked like real bears. They had extended snouts and beady eyes. They were made of cotton material, maybe recycled from old clothes, and had buttons for eyes. They may not be very pretty but they have surely become collectible teddy bears. No wonder they can be obtained only for quite a hefty sum.

Vintage teddy bears are a far cry from the stuffed bears that we see today. Modern teddy bears come in various styles; they are dressed up in different fashion. They are fitted with hats, be-ribboned, and dressed up for a party. They ride tiny strollers, carry an umbrella or wear shades. No wonder, collectors have a heyday choosing teddy bears to add to their collection.
