Collecting Antique Pottery
Pottery is the general term for wares that are made from clay. It is also one of the most diverse things you can collect. Collecting pottery can be very expensive, and you must do some research if you plan on becoming a serious pottery collector. Read good books on pottery, and arm yourself with the proper terminologies.
I have a colleague who is an extensive collector of antiques. He’s always on the lookout for antique wooden furniture, glass pieces, and European pottery. Going to his house is like visiting a museum with all the priceless pieces he has. I had a hard time going around the house for fear of breaking an antique. He says that he collects and restores these items because it reminds him of how people have evolved in terms of style and taste.
